A booster seat is a car seat without a backrest, designed for children between 105 and 150 cm tall or weighing between 15 (22) kg and 36 kg. This model raises the child to the level of the car's seat belts.
The device helps to correctly fasten the seat belts so that they pass through the necessary points. There are two types of booster seats – those with a backrest, known as "highback boosters," and those without a backrest or side wings. The main function of a booster seat is to correctly position the car's 3-point seat belt on the child's body. Therefore, sitting on a booster seat means that when the child is lifted higher, the upper part of the seat belt crosses the child's shoulder, while the leg part crosses the pelvis rather than the abdomen.
