Child's toilet

Potties are an essential accessory for a child's development. Learning to use the potty independently can be difficult. Some children understand what is happening right away, while others take longer. They will all learn over time, but learning will be more motivating and enjoyable if it is done in a pleasant atmosphere, without pressure, and the additional benefit will be an attractive, comfortable and easy-to-clean potty.

When and what kind of potty should you buy for your child? When should you potty train your child? Potty training can begin when we see that the child is already able to control their physiological activities. For some children, this happens as early as a few months old, but the vast majority of children master the potty around the age of two. Of course, this is not a strict rule. Some children learn faster, others a little slower and later. It is important to catch the right moment. How to do this? Of course, the most important thing is communication, so that the child understands what we want from him and is able to formulate his needs. He does not have to speak clearly, it is important that he can communicate. Before trying to cope with everything yourself, you need to explain to your child what will happen. He must understand what is expected of him. Then simply remove the diaper and observe. If your child is ready to start using the potty, he will quickly understand what is happening and will begin to signal the need. If after a few days there is no progress, then potty training should be postponed for a few weeks and then try again.

Of course, along with potty training, a potty appears at home, which is usually very interesting for the child, especially if it has additional functions. Which one to choose? What should you pay attention to when choosing a potty for your child? The most important features of a potty are:

* size is a very important feature that is often overlooked. It seems that all pots are designed for children around two years old, so they should be designed to suit children of that age. Meanwhile, some children are larger, others are smaller, especially if they start to learn independence earlier. It is worth paying attention to this, remembering that the small potty will have to be replaced with a larger one when the child grows up;

* comfort - the baby should be comfortable on the potty. If this is not the case, he will not use it, so if the child signals that he is not comfortable, we should simply replace the potty with another;

* design - when choosing a potty for a boy, you should make sure that it is designed higher in the front so that the child is comfortable using it. Girls can use flatter pots;

* ease of emptying - washing the potty is not a pleasant task, so this task should be facilitated and a pot with a removable insert should be chosen, which allows for convenient washing even in a small sink;

* appearance - children's pots should encourage children to use them. Therefore, you should choose a model in the child's favorite color or a print with a fairy-tale character. Some pots have a fancy shape that resembles animals, which also attracts children;

* additional functions – many parents, as well as children, really like them: there are interactive pots that make different sounds and signal success when the baby succeeds. However, you need to warn the child about these advantages so that he does not get scared.

It is worth observing the child's reaction to the potty. Do not pressure him, but let him get used to the potty. If, despite our efforts, the potty does not fit him, it needs to be changed.

Or maybe just a toilet seat cover? Some parents, wanting to skip the "potty" stage, immediately purchase a toilet seat cover that allows the baby to use a large pot. This solution has its advantages and disadvantages. The benefit for parents, of course, is that they do not have to wash the potty. If the child is happy with this decision, great! But remember that in addition to the potty seat cover, the child also needs a step that will allow him to easily climb onto the potty.
